Actor. Educator. Director.
Julia has committed her life to engaging students in the
classroom and audiences from the stage.
As an actor, she loves collaborating on new work. Some of her
favorite projects included working with B.D. Wong and
Wayne Barker on their musical Mister Doctor and the
indie rock band Home by Hovercraft on their musical titled
On the Eve. As well as, La Jolla Playhouse's Theatre for
Young Audience play titled Home of the Brave.
As an educator, she has most recently taught Acting and
Musical Theatre History at San Diego State University and was an invited guest teacher at the Elizabethan Drama Center in Taipei, Taiwan. Prior to moving to San Diego, she taught high school Theatre and English in Oregon. She has combined all of these experiences to help in her current position as Director of Education and Outreach at La Jolla Playhouse where she provides creative opportunities for artists of today and tomorrow.
As a director, she has directed and produced over 40 productions ranging from Shakespeare to Sondheim. Most recently she was a guest director of the musical Cabaret for the Coronado Playhouse.
